These images were taken to document the process of designing our edition of the Quadrangle. Designing became a full-time endeavor, and these photographs were my way of making sure that I always remembered the experience. From the people and places that hold a special place in my heart to images showing how chaotic the publishing process can be, this series will always be one of my favorites.
For our edition of the Quadrangle, the theme was time, and it was worked into every element we could: the ordering of the pieces, the artwork we chose, and even the design. To visually embody the theme, as well as to give a more well-rounded issue, I decided to focus on clocks. I designed cogs to work into the layouts, as well as taking images at a local store that specialized in clocks. All of these images are a result of that shoot, and many of them were used in the magazine.
Thanks to Jay L. Soemann and Walker Brothers and Monroe Jewelers in Buffalo, NY for letting me come in and take photos of your beautiful clocks!
